The Conversation in Your Head!

One of the greatest pleasures I consistently experience as I walk this path, is the opportunity of speaking with people who are from all different walks of life, at different stages in their lives, and with different desires and passions.  When I am with them, I enjoy the conversations around their sense of self and what they want to be and do in their life.  I find it so exciting to be a part of their journey of discovery as they express their desires, were there no limitations.

I can see the beauty, the creativity, the brilliance, and the unlimited abilities they have to become and do whatever they choose.  It's such a wonderful feeling.  It's so exciting to think of all that potential!

But so very often, they are blocked by the voice in their head.  The voice that is telling them they're not enough, they're not worthy, and it can't happen for them.  If we're honest with ourselves, we've all felt this way at one time or another, perhaps often, and sadly for many, most of the time.

That voice is debilitating, it sets up the road blocks to what we want, it keeps us down, and can be paralyzing in our desire to move forward.

There are many ways in which that voice is instilled in us.  Our sense of who we are begins at a very young age and there are many influences that shape that sense of who we believe ourselves to be.

Unfortunately, for many of us, we were told of our limitations; you're stupid, you're ugly, you'll never amount to anything, you can't do that, you're too sensitive, you're not strong enough, girls don't do that, boys don't do that, and on and on it goes.

Somewhere along the path of our lives we are  taught the concept of lack.  We're taught we are not enough, and the world is limited in it's resources and opportunities, and there is not enough for everyone.  A sense of competition is instilled and the act of comparison becomes a way of measuring our worth.  When we compare ourselves to others, we rarely feel good about ourselves.  As Theodore Roosevelt said, "Comparison is the thief of joy."

Not only do people experience being spoken to and raised in such an environment, but socially, the outside world can mirror those very same sentiments.  The social world promotes a very limited picture of what is possible.  When looking to society we see a very narrow view of what is beautiful, what is smart, what is successful, and what is possible for those who don't fit the popular and projected images.

There has been significant changes over time and I believe it will continue with the intention and dedication of so many people who look to value and broaden the view of what is beautiful, successful, smart, ...... ultimately what is possible for everyone.

My experience growing up was similar in that the roles and expectations of men and women were clearly defined along gender lines.  Images of successful and beautiful women who looked like me were mostly non existent.  I was fortunate though, to have parents who told me I could do anything as long as I set my mind to it, and believed in myself.   Believed in myself........ and there lies the key.  How do we do that?

How do we learn to believe in ourselves, to believe that anything is possible, to believe we can be what we want to be, to believe we are worthy, capable, lovable and wonderful?

We can do it by our awareness of who we really are.  Who we really are is a reflection, an extension of the energy that creates worlds.

Did you hear that?  No really, this is the key, the most important understanding of creating what we want.  We are an extension of the energy that creates worlds!

We, you, me, have the life energy of Source within us.  The energy that is unlimited, smart, beautiful, loving, and everything that creates joy in this life. The energy of well being that is streaming to us all the time is always sending us the message that we are loved, we are worthy and life should be good!

Once we realize what we create in this life is based on our relationship between ourselves and our higher self, our lives change forever.    Our higher self loves us, believes in us, supports us, sees us as amazing beings worthy of all the wonderful experiences this life has to offer.

When we are feeling good about ourselves, appreciating ourselves, and acknowledging our best self, we are empowered because it aligns us with our higher self.  It's like the jet fuel for creating the life you desire.

When we let the negative voice speak and listen to it, it makes us feel bad and that is our indicator that we are out of alignment with who we really are.  So when you hear that negative voice, and that conversation begins, remember, that is not who you are!

We are energy, our thoughts are energy and we create with our thoughts.  When the negative voice in our head starts telling us how we can't be, do, or have what we want, we are giving our attention and focusing our energy on just that.

Where thoughts go, energy flows!  By focusing on that negativity our energy feeds it, and it continues then to manifest in our lives.  It has to, that is how the universal law of attraction works.  What we focus on we create.   Whether you choose to believe it or not, it works, just like gravity!  So why not understand it, and then use it to work for you?

When you're feeling bad, notice what the voice in your head is telling you.  In that moment do whatever you can to reach for a better feeling thought.  If your driving, turn the music on and sing or car dance (it's so funny how many times I've been caught doing that!)  If you're home and have pets, be with your pets; their love is so wonderful and unconditional.  Read, take a nap, play a game.  Think of something that makes you feel good, something you appreciate, something you're grateful for.  If you can hold that thought for 15 seconds, another like thought will follow, and then another.  The law of attraction will give you what you focus on.

If the conversation in your head has one side saying I am not good enough, in any way, let the voice in your head that says I am worthy, I am capable, I am beautiful, speak louder and more consistently and you will begin to feel better, and you will start a momentum to help keep you there and attract more of what makes you feel good!

"I AM"

TWO OF THE MOST
POWERFUL WORDS.  FOR
WHAT YOU PUT AFTER
THEM SHAPES YOUR
REALITY

The thought builds.  What are your thoughts building?  Let's be aware and consciously shape our reality by remembering who we really are, where we come from and our relationship to all that is.  Well being is streaming to us all the time!

If you were listening to the hypnotic voice of your Source, you'd be constantly hearing the drum beating that says, "You are loved, and you are worthy and you are valued and life is supposed to be good for you......"
Abraham Hicks

Life can completely change when people experience a positive shift in their thoughts.  Let's then be the change for ourselves and magnify that feeling by being the change for others as well.

Let's be the outside positive influence with our acts of kindness and appreciation for those in our life and those we come in contact with everyday.  Let's be the reason someone smiles, let's speak the words that uplift, encourage and empower others.  The slightest act of kindness can make the biggest difference in helping someone to keep that positive voice in their head speaking loud and clear!  Let's love ourselves and love and support each other and watch what happens!

Focus on Love

First and foremost I want to extend my deepest sympathies, thoughts of condolences and love to the families and friends of those who died in Orlando this past weekend. As with you, I was overwhelmed by such a tragic, horrifying event.

At times like this the universal connection we have with one another is so acute. There is no denying it.  Although we may not physically be there, be a relative or a friend, we can feel the pain and sorrow.

We are all connected, we all come from the same source. Some may call it God, Goddess, their Higher Power, or Source. I call it Source. Source is the creator of everything that is, you, me, the sun, moon and stars and all that exists. Since we all come from Source, we are all a part of Source.  We are a part of the same energy that creates worlds.

Some of you may doubt or question this idea. But let me see if I can get you to the feeling place of knowing your connection, our connection to each other.

Have you ever been to a concert, play, or live event? In the moment the performer hits that crescendo, that note, plays that song you love and the crowd goes wild and you feel the chill run down your spine - you are feeling the energy of what is being emitted by the performer and by everyone in the room. You are feeling your connection to joy and happiness that moment brings to each individual and to the group collectively. The energy is heightened in that moment and that is why you feel it to such an extent. You feel it because you are connected to everyone there and everyone is connected to you. The energy in you is a part of the same energy that exists in everyone.

That energy connection exists eternally, it is always there. That is why at times like this we all hurt, we all feel the pain of such an intense loss and act of hate.

When I heard the news on the TV, I was immediately overwhelmed with sorrow.  It felt so bad I ached.  As I watched, and the details unfolded, all I could think of was how painful this is for everyone involved; the victims, their loved ones, and everyone who cares.

As I listened and watched the reports, it amazed me how some of the people commenting chose to speak in ways that continue to foster fear and hate. The same hate and fear that has perpetuated ignorance and bigotry for centuries. The same hate and fear that has marginalized, oppressed and subjugated groups of people simply because of the color of their skin, their gender, and whom they choose to love.

I know through the laws of the universe, what we focus on, what we give our attention to, grows. Focusing on hate only brings more of it. I wanted so badly to help, to ease the pain, and in having that desire I knew I could contribute. I realized at that moment my focus, my contribution to those who passed, to those who are grieving, would be love. I would join the thousands of others who will not accept hate, and instead focus on love.

When I focused my thoughts on love, on sending love to the families, friends and loved ones of those lost, I felt a shift.  I felt the heaviness of hate lift and felt the lightness of love instead.

All the acts of love we see on TV in response, gives us hope, shows the strength we have in our desire for love, for solidarity, for freedom to live a life we all deserve.

My heart and greatest appreciation goes out to everyone who stands at the vigil, who leaves the flowers, the cards, pictures, who extends a hand, a hug, a kind and loving word. Every thought of love leads to an act of love and that is what will heal and empower us.

We must remember that love must first begin within ourselves. There is no way around this.  Had the person who committed this horrible act loved himself ........ this would not have happened. You cannot love yourself and want to hurt others.

When we love ourselves, we align ourselves with the creator of all that exists, and that is when we are our most powerful. When we love ourselves, we create more love in our lives, more joy, happiness, and abundance. When we know that we are a part of Source, each of us is perfect, worthy, amazing creators, everything changes. When we emit the energy from those feelings and it is felt by those all around us, things happen easily, they fall into place, we receive acts of kindness and appreciation. The longer we can hold those thoughts, the more of what we desire comes into our reality.  What we focus on we create.

Let love then, be the focus. Mother Theresa said she would never attend a rally to fight against a war, but would attend a Peace rally. Einstein said we must decide if this is a friendly universe or not.  Let's decide to focus on what we want, not what we don't want.  Let's focus on the idea that the universe is friendly, and that it is unlimited in it's abundance.

If we are to create peace, happiness, joy for all, we must love ourselves first, let that love be the frequency we emit to others...... and watch how all good things come.

Please leave me a comment below.  Let me know what you think.  What happens when you choose love, when you choose to love yourself?  How does that change your experience, how does it make you feel?

Thank you for walking this path with me. May love and light surround you every day!

The Thought Builds

Welcome to the first posting of "The Thought Builds."  This is a very exciting time and I look forward to sharing ways of thinking and being in this time and place that will help you to find the joy, happiness, love, abundance and success you have been looking for!

The posts you will find here will hopefully move you to become more aware of what you want in life and how your thoughts are either helping you or hindering you from creating whatever it is you want.

While many believers and followers have written and spoken throughout time about the power of our thoughts and how our "thoughts become things," there are those who have been quite skeptical and have been of the thinking "If I can't measure it, it doesn't exist."  So for those of you who are of that mindset, you can now feel assured as Quantum Physics has shown our thoughts are energy, and the focus of that energy can and does create experiences and things in our lives.

Since I was a child, I have always been trying to figure out what's the best way to do that!  That being anything having to do with having fun.  Of course, as children, that's all we want to do!  And then later in life the "What's the best way to do that!" became how do I have successful relationships, create love and harmony in my life, and have a successful career.  In general, how or what do I do to be happy, to make every experience the best as possible and enjoy life!?

What I have been fortunate to learn (thanks Mom!) is the power of thought.  How I choose to think about things has the greatest impact on how and what my experience will be.  Since I was in high school I've been exposed to and practiced (to some degree) the power of positive thinking.  At the time I didn't really understand how it worked, I just did it and saw the success from placing my focus on the positive aspects of my desire and it worked!

My fascination with creating successful human experiences led me to study Social Behavior and with a Masters in Sociology I have been able to learn even more about relationships and what helps or hinders a successful life!  And the quest continues!

Over the years I have continued my understanding of creating a happy life with the readings of Neville Goddard, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Esther & Gerry Hicks, Marianne Williamson, Sanaya Roman, Wallace Wattles, Louise Hay, Christy Whitman and many, many others.

As you can see I am dedicated to continue my understanding for the benefit of a most wonderful life, but now also to share what I've learned and experienced with you to help you create "a most wonderful life."

I have used the power of thought to create amazing, wonderful, fun, loving experiences in my life.  I know it works.  Now, I want to help you to discover how well it works, how you can create all the joy, happiness, success and abundance you want in your life.

Join me as I walk this path of being a deliberate creator.  Don't let life just happen, be deliberate in creating what you want in life.  I did it and you can too!

The postings will help you to start to be mindful, to be aware of what you want and to focus your thinking and feelings to be in alignment with who you really are - who you really are is a creator!  You create all day long every day, but the catch here is to create with intention - what a difference it makes!

Please comment with your ideas, experiences, and questions.  I'm a Personal Life Coach, Teacher, Speaker and Mentor.  For a more focused and expanded understanding of how to create your wonderful life, I offer coaching programs, and one on one coaching as well as guest speaking and mentoring.  You can contact me at damaddern@gmail.com.

I hope my posts will move you to take a step towards focusing your thoughts on what you want, and your feelings on how good it will feel to get it.  This is truly a life changer!

Have the life you want, the relationships, the wealth, the healthy fit body, the successful career, the vacations; whatever makes you happy!

Remember  "The Thought Builds!"  What are your thoughts building?  Let's build something wonderful together!

Thank you so much for joining me.  I'm looking forward to a wonderful experience.
